Three generations, four companies, one group

The Lynch Brother Group is a family-owned construction group based at Cumnor, on the edge of Oxford. It works across Oxford and Oxfordshire. Henry and John Lynch, brothers and the third generation of an Oxford building family, run it. Their grandfather, John T. Lynch, worked on Oxford sites in the 1950s, among them what is now the Clarendon Centre. Their father founded his own firm, Lynch Building Contractors, in 1984. The group's own companies came later, the first two in 2021. Today the group brings four companies under one name and delivers eight services across eight sectors, with every core trade in-house. More than fifty people work across the four companies.

  1. Their father's firm

    Their father founds Lynch Building Contractors in Oxford: his firm, not the group's. Henry and John learn the trades on its sites, both as apprentice carpenters. In 2012 Henry is named Oxfordshire's Best Apprentice. The group's own companies come later.

  2. Two companies, one family

    Lynch Brother Homes and J & H Lynch are incorporated on the same day: the main contractor and the screed and render specialist. J & H Lynch had traded since 2019.

  3. A group takes shape

    The brothers register a holding company. Noble Painting and Decorating becomes its decorating company. Now the finish is the group's own trade, as the structure and the walls already are.

  4. The Lynch Brother Group

    Lynch Brother Property Services is incorporated to look after buildings once they are in use. In July the holding company takes the name Lynch Brother Group. Four companies, one name.
