Sectors We Build In

For the landlords, occupiers, estates teams, operators and developers who own or run Oxfordshire's buildings: one contractor, eight kinds of building.

What changes from sector to sector

The trades do not. The calendar and the conditions do.

Our own trades, every sector

Structure, screed, render and decoration are the group's own trades, whatever the building. The same teams screed a laboratory floor, paint a school block, strip out a shop unit and redecorate a listed building. The sector adds its specialist package, fume cupboards in a lab or bathroom pods in a hall, and each is booked into one programme.

Every sector keeps a calendar

A school gives us its holidays and a college its vacations. A shop gives us the hours after closing; a pub the hours before opening and after last orders; a developer its handover plan. The day the building must be in use again fixes the programme, and when a delivery slips the trades we re-order are our own.

What Oxford adds to a job

A college's estates team and porters' lodge set the permits and the hours. A science park sets its access rules. Listed frontages line the main streets, an infill site has neighbours on three sides, and a market town's coaching inn is listed, cellar and courtyard included. They go into the survey and the price before we start.

Sectors

Eight sectors, one contractor

Every sector page answers one question: does the Lynch Brother Group build buildings like yours? Landlords and occupiers bring us offices; research institutes bring us laboratories. Bursars and estates teams bring us schools and colleges for the holidays and student accommodation for the vacations. Retailers bring us retail fit outs and shopfitting with an opening date; operators bring us pubs, restaurants and hotels to refit around the hours they trade. Owners of heritage and listed buildings bring us a consent to build to and a fabric to match. Developers bring us residential development schemes to build as main contractor. Each page says what we deliver in that sector, the conditions of working in it, and how a job runs.
